Michael R. Lirette

Michael R. Lirette

Master Corporal Michael Roger Lirette, 59, of Moncton, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC following a short battle with cancer.

Born November 1, 1958 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Roger Joseph and Maida Lucille (Goguen) Lirette.

Mike served over 30 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch 6. For the past several years, Michael proudly sold poppies at the Champlain Mall Sobeys, a very important event for him. He also loved fishing, bowling, horseshoes, swimming, bonfires at the cottage, and just always having a good time wherever he was.

He will be sadly missed by his sister Beth and her husband, Mike Williston of Moncton; his cat, Snowy whom he loved very much; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, August 26 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at the centre.

Visiting hours Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and from 9:30 am Saturday until time of service.

The Veterans will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral centre at 4 pm Friday.

In memory of Michael, a contribution to the Moncton Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 would be appreciated.
