Edna Poirier, 83, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday August 30, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on April 21, 1934 in Bertrand, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Emma (Landry) Pinet.
She is survived by one daughter, Ginette St-Amand (Maurice) from Irishtown; three sons: Jacques (Diane) of Lakeville, André of Moncton, and Donald of Rimouski, Qué.; six granddaughters: Francine, Christine, Natasha, Ashley, Mélanie, and Sarah; four great-grandchildren: Riley, Jade, Sophia, and Abby; one sister, Valeda Vienneau (Gilbert) of Bertrand; two brothers: Euclide of Shippagan and Arthur (Julia) of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by one son, Robert; five sisters: Rosa, Émilia "Billie", Lydia, Imelda, and Noëlla; two brothers: Elide and Emile.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Monday September 4 at 1 pm. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Edna, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology) would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
