Jeannette Léger, 83, of Moncton, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday October 30, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on November 8, 1933 in Haut-Sheila, she was the daughter of the late Georges T. and Marie (Robichaud) Comeau.
Prior to her retirement, Jeannette was a teacher and an employee at Nav-Can. She was a devoted mother and a cherished grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Mathieu; six children: Daniel (Martha) of Orléans, ON, Jocelyne (Chris) de Newton, MA, Gisele (Hai) of Dieppe, Paul (April), Marc, Nicole (Réal), all of Moncton; 11 grandchildren: Travis, Geneviève, Sophie, Anick, Mathieu, Pascale, Michael, Isabelle, Alec, Chloé and Lucie; many great-grandchildren; two sisters: Rosemonde and Cécile; three brothers: Vincent, Georges, and Roland, all of Tracadie-Sheila; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four sisters: Carmelle, Jacqueline, Jeanne D’Arc, and Georgeline; three brothers: Léonide, Jean-Claude, and Alonzo.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 10 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton, on Friday November 3 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Jeannette, a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
