Juliette Savoie, 78, of Dieppe and formerly of Shippagan, passed away surrounded by the love of her children on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. She joined her belated husband, Yves Savoie (2009). She spent most of her life in Shippagan but her latest years were spent in Dieppe close to her children and grandchildren. Born on November 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Alexis and Éva (Haché) Chiasson.
Prior to her retirement, Juliette was a teacher with young children in the area of Shippagan les îles. She was involved in the community of Shippagan with the Monseigneur Chiasson Residences and with the sick children fund.
She is survived by five children: André (Susan), Lise, Serge (Monique), Johanne (Etienne) and Lucie (David); eight grandchildren: Dave, Amanda, Adam, Eric, Myakim, Lienzo, Thomas, and Théo; five sisters: Aurélia, Marielle (Lorrain Groleau), Rosemonde (Léonard Leger), Rhéa, and Hilda (Jean-Marc Genest); three brothers: Paul-Émile, Donald, and Léonce (Jackie); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her beloved husband, she was predeceased by one son-in-law, Gaby Ovidiu Nimat; and her brother, Claude.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and at Bulger Funeral Home, 233, 1st Street, Shippagan, (336-2370) Friday from 2 pm until time of departure for funeral mass at Saint-Jérôme R.C. church, 110 Université Street, Shippagan from where the funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday November 17 at 4:30 pm. Interment will be in Shippagan.
In memory of Juliette, a contribution to the Fonds d’aide pour les enfants malades Sick Children's Fund would be appreciated.
