Normand Dupuis, 92, of Dieppe and formerly of Robichaud Office, passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on July 28, 1925 in Fitchburg, MA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ernestine (Roy) Dupuis.
Prior to his retirement, Normand worked as a fisherman for over 50 years and was also a carpenter. He was an exceptional storyteller, a hard worker and dedicated man to his family. His favorite pastime was playing cards, especially at 200.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Amanda née Cormier; five daughters: Anise LeBlanc (Jacques) of Longueuil, Jacinthe Dupuis of Dieppe, Francine Landry (Ola) of Dieppe, Joanne Dupuis (Luc) of Saint-Hubert and Jeannette Landry (Emery) of Shédiac; three sons: Bernard (Annette) and Daniel (Liane), both of Dieppe and Victor (Martine) of Scoudouc; three sisters: Huberte Gagnon (Gérard) of Shédiac, Elizabeth Richard (late Laurie) and Rachelle Goguen (late Désiré), both of Cocagne; one brother, Gérard (Dorice) of Grand-Barachois; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Marie, who passed away at birth on September 25, 1953; three sisters: Jeannette, Anna and Hélène; four brothers: Hervé, Robert, Roger and Alfred.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude towards the Palliative Care Unit for their excellent care provided to Normand.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday November 25 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Saturday from 9 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in Barachois. In memory of Normand, a contribution to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
