It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ronald Duncan Murray, 90, on Thursday, December 14th, 2017 at the Villa Providence in Shediac with his family by his side. Born on April 7th, 1927 in South Queensferry, Scotland, he was the son of the late Edwin and Allison (née Waterson) Murray.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Alida (née Léger); his daughter, Michelle (Marc Ouellette) of Moncton; his son, Ian (Venetia) of Broxbourne, England; his three grand-children who he adored: Gabrielle, Finley and Oscar; his sister, Evelyn Milledge of Straffordshire, England; his sister-in-law, Jeannita (John) Loughlin; his brothers-in-law, Médard (Marguerite) Léger and Mathieu Léger and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his sister, Allison Hollow; his brothers: Edwin and Danny; his brothers-in-law: Jim Hollow and Ron Milledge and his sister-in-law, Jeannette (Comeau) Léger.
Ron was an avid golfer. For many years, he enjoyed giving golf lessons at the Pine Needles Golf and Country Club in Haute-Aboujagane. He also had a passion for words and languages and, in his free time, would do crosswords and read.
The family would like to sincerely thank the personnel at the Villa Providence in Shediac for the care and attention provided to Ron during the two years he was at the Villa.
A celebration in honour of Ron’s life will be celebrated Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 at 4 p.m. followed by a reception at the funeral centre. Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. till time of celebration.
In memory of Ron, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297).
