It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fernand Jacob age 58 on January 22, 2018 following a brief battle with cancer. Born in Embrun, Ontario he was the son of the late Rene Jacob and Dorita (Leger) Jacob.
Devoted husband and a loving father, Fernand was a retired fisheries officer with 32 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, good music, golf, helping others, seafood, cooking at home and at the camp but first and foremost he appreciated the beauty of nature from sunrise to sunset.
Fernand will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 36 years, Roberte (Landry) Jacob and one son Mathieu Jacob; three sisters: Jeanne (René) Gaudet, Delia Jacob, Auréa Wright; three brothers: René (Linda) Jacob, George Jacob, and the late Paul Jacob along with many nieces and nephews
At 8 ½ years old he became part of Cecile and the late Larry Landry’s family in Bas Cap-Pele, NB. Their children also became his sisters and his bothers that he loved very much; six sisters: Patricia (Joe) Richard, Linda (Donald) Leblanc, Claire (Emery) Saulnier, Laurine (Michel) Leblanc, Linda (Reggie) Brine, Bernice (Mike) Leblanc and two brothers: Richard (Denise) Landry, the late Louis Landry along with many nieces and nephews
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funéarium, 2642 chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am till time of departure 11:20. The funeral will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila RC Church, 2648 chemin Acadie on Saturday at 11:30 am.
Inurnment will be in the Frenette Columbarium Cap-Pelé.
In memory of Fernand, a contribution to CHU Dumont Foundation (Oncology) would be appreciated.
