Léona Arsenault, 83, formerly of Moncton, passed away on Friday February 9, 2018 at the Villa Providence in Shediac. Born on June 10, 1934 in Noinville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Catherine (Richard) Gallant.
She is survived by her 10 children: Irene Hansen (Gary), Dorice Maillet (John Learette), Jackie Arseneau (Daniel), Germaine (Louis Léger), Diane Partridge, Thérèse Murray, Alice Buell, all of Moncton, Charline LeBlanc (Roger) and Eveline Daigle, both of Shediac, and Yvon (Jackie Allain) of Québec; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Marie Richard of Rogersville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Adolphe (2009); and two brothers: Emile and Ernest.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton, on Tuesday February 13 at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Léona, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
