Bourgeois, Roger M

1936 - 2018

Shediac, NB - Roger Bourgeois, 81, of Shediac, NB, passed into the presence of God at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Shediac, on September 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Gaspard and Hermenie (LeBlanc) Bourgeois.

A devoted family man he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His devotion and care during his son Roger James's life was an example of love. He always found time to attend the annual Lobster Festival, seeing concerts, daily trips to the wharf to make Roger James's life as memorable and comfortable as possible. In later years he revisited his love for camping with the restoration of his new to him citation camper. A people person he could strike up a conversation with anyone.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Doreen (Lambert) Bourgeois; 2 daughters: Lynn (Darrel) Coates and Lannette (Wayne) Cudmore; one brother: Frederick Bourgeois; one sister: Lea Gallant and by several nieces and nephews. He was the second youngest of eleven brothers and sisters.

He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren: Marcel (Manon) Gaudet, Monique (Ryan Smyth) Gaudet, and Christina (Mathieu) Landry, 8 great-grandchildren: Eva and Gabriel, Sophia, Zoë and Brody, Kaylie, Joshua and Dax.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Roger James, in 2010; brothers: Leo, Ulysse and Arthur; sisters: Marie, Rita, Therese, Bella and Bernadette.
