Simone Frenette

Miss. Simone Frenette, 88, passed away Friday, April 20th, 2018 at the Villa Providence, Shediac, following a lengthy illness surrounded by family.

Born in Lewisville on June 27th, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Gérard and Claudia (Boudreau) Frenette.

After leaving the T. Eaton Company, Simone became a licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director with her family at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd. She worked along side her father, brother, niece and nephews  with a strong work ethic until her retirement.

She was an active member of the Légion de Marie, former member of New Brunswick Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association. A giving and generous person, Simonne cared for her parents until their deaths. A devout catholic, Simonne was known for her great generosity in helping others in need.

She is survived by her brother, Jean Frenette (Lucille), a brother-in-law, Roger Fortier,  nieces and nephews: Cécile, Jean-Marc (Anne-Marie), Yves (Nancy), Monique (Charles), Hector and Gerard (Thomas); great nieces and nephews: Natasha (Mark), Jean-Luc (Chantal), Denis (Isabelle), Jérémie (Jolyne), René (Sandra), Alex (Monique), Nicholas (Manon), Katelyn (Aubré), Michel (Isabelle), Martin (Kaelyn), Mathieu; several great great nieces and nephews: Vanessa, Adèle, Maxime, Max, Cédric, Savannah, Mackenzie, William, Julia and also survived by a special cousin, Claudette Lirette, a niece-in-law, Monique Gauvin (Guy) and a nephew-in-law, Ronald Caissie.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a sister, Géraldine Frenette-Fortier (2015), nephews: Gilles (1987), Jean-Guy (2012), a great niece, Erica (2009).

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Monday, April 23rd from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. only.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 405 Main Street, Shediac, on Tuesday, April 24th at 10:30 a.m. followed a reception at the Pastoral Centre. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
