Ronald Gagnon, 72, of Grand Barachois died peacefully on the night of Thursday, May 24, 2018 in Moncton, in the arms of his friend, life companion, his loving wife Raymonde, who tenderly adored him for 46 years. Born on May 9, 1946 in Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Edmond and Juliette (Gagnon) Gagnon.
Ronald is survived by his brother Roger (Nicole) of Shediac Cape; his two sisters: Louise McKee (Paul) and Marie Brun (Michel) all of Grand Barachois; eight nieces and nephews: Patrick McKee (Alicia), Kevin McKee (Nicole), Sean McKee (Lucie), Lisa McKee (Samuel), Renée Gagnon (Victor), Colette Gagnon (Mario), Jean-Marc Gagnon (Lise), Gino Brun (Rachel) and their children: Maelle, Dax, Gabrielle, Madelaine; his godson: Daniel Gaudet; his aunts and uncles: Irène Léger, Yolande Léger, Edgar Gagnon, Gérard Gagnon; in-laws: Donald, Louis, Roger, Antoinin, Bernard, Louis (lte Angela), Victor (lte Germaine), Sr. Benoite, Émilienne, Dolorese, Alma (lte Norbert), Thérèse and several cousins and friends.
Beside his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother, Normand and a sister, Murielle.
An adventurer, Ronald had a passion for fishing, golf, sports, travel, NASSCAR motor racing, his car rides, his visits to the docks and his ice cream cones, which he enjoyed, secretly hiding them from his personal dietician and nurse! As co-owners of E. Gagnon and Fils in Ste-Thérèse-de-Gaspé for several decades, his life was devoted to the field of fishing accompanied by his accomplice Raymonde. A quiet man by nature, Ronald was an exceptional entrepreneur throughout his career. His quiet generosity helped many in need without recognition. He will be remembered by all for his gentle personality.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Monday, May 28th from 2 p.m. to 4 pm and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday May 29th from 9:30 a. m. until time of departure 10:20 a.m. A musical prelude will be held at the St-Henri-de-Barachois R. C. Church on Tuesday May 29th at 10:45 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a. m. Following the public graveside service, a reception will be served at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Grand Barachois.
