Peacefully and in the presence of his family, on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, passed away Guy Thériault, 84, of Moncton.
Born March 8, 1934, in Edmundston, NB, he was the son of the late Emery Thériault and Jeannette Lévesque.
Following his classical studies atCollège Saint-Louis of Edmundston and Collège de Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Guy Thériault had two distinct careers. The first one in radio and television broadcasting and the second with the Bank of Canada.
He joined Radio-Canada in Moncton in 1958 and was appointed director of the CBAF and CBAFT stations and managed until 1982 the sole regional headquarter of French services outside the province of Quebec. He went on to occupy other executive positions in Toronto and Ottawa. After retiring from Radio-Canada in 1989, he worked as Secretary-General at the Bank of Canada for more than nine years.
With his wife Louiselle, he decided to retire in Moncton where they were reunited with several long-standing friends and formed new friendships.
Guy is survived by his wife, Louiselle née Martin; three children: Denis (Audrey), Line (Alyre) and Luc; two grandchildren: Eva and Zachary; a sister, Gisèle Kowsman (Serge); many nieces, and nephews.
He is predeceased by three brothers and a sister: Lucien, Louis, Juliette, and Gilles.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900).
