Sr Doris LeBlanc ndsc
Sister Doris LeBlanc, ndsc, of Elsipogtog (Big Cove), passed away following a short illness on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at the Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton. She was 78 years old and in her 60th year of her religious life. Born October 17, 1939 in Minto, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and Nazarine (Bourque) LeBlanc.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by six sisters: Julie Toner (Wilfred) of Grand Falls, Lena Caissie and Irène Roy (Jean), both of Minto, Anita White (Gerald) of Fredericton, Dorine Colton (Brendan) of Bathurst and Bertha O’Leary (Lawrence) of Nasonworth; three brothers: Father Joseph A. of Fredericton, Léo J. (Lorette) of British Columbia and Edward J. (Janet) of Ontario; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five sisters: Florence, Yvonne, Emma, Maria, and Marinne; and one brother, Émile.
Sister LeBlanc will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Sunday from 2 to 8:30 pm and on Monday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Sunday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday July 16 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
