Surrounded by her loving family, our sister, Adélaïde, passed away on Sunday November 18, 2018 at the age of 78 following a cancer diagnosis. Born in Bathurst, she grew up in Néguac and has been living in Moncton for several years. She was the daughter of late Eva Mazerolle and Ernest LaPlante from Néguac, NB.
She will be missed by her siblings: her sister Ernestine (rhsj) from Bathurst, and her brothers: William (Françine) and Leo (Carol) from Moncton; several nieces and nephews: Eric (Lynn), Annie (Mike), Nadine (Gilles), Marcel (Madelyn), and Renée and her great-nieces and great-nephews: Melanie, Vanessa, Benjamin, Alex, Julien, Gavin, and Chloe.
Throughout her career as a nurse, Adélaïde worked in several areas in the public sector and in nursing education. After retirement, she remained interested and involved in nursing and in health care activities participating on several not for profit agencies. In 2016, she was awarded the Sovereign Medal for Volunteers as a recognition of her contribution for several years of involvement in the Canadian Cancer Society.
Our family wishes to sincerely thank everyone (family members and friends) for their compassion and support at diagnosis and throughout her illness.
In keeping with Adélaïde’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will take place at Christ-Roi R.C. church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton, on Thursday November 22, at 11am. Following the funeral, family and friends are invited to join our family at the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick or to the parish.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900)
