Corinne Melanson, 95, of Villa Providence, Shediac, formerly of St-André-LeBlanc passed away on Sunday, November 18th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 7th, 1923 in St-André-LeBlanc, she was the daughter of the late Olivier and Marie (Léger) Landry.
Before her retirement, she was self-employed doing rural mail delivery. Corinne is a former member and president of the Ladies Auxiliary Legion #91 Cap-Pelé and a former member of the Légion de Marie.
She is survived by seven daughters: Germaine Melanson (Ola), Gloria Brine (Roger), Stella Losier (Gilbert), Géraldine Cormier (Gabriel), Marie LeBlanc (Francis), Blanche Melanson (Denis Boudreau) and Laura Léger (Donald); three sons: Gérald (Patricia Cormier), Lionel (Corinne) and Arthur (Beverly); three sisters: Sr. Phyllis Landry, n.d.s.c., Hilda Cormier and Rose-Marie Goguen; 24 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert (2002); a daughter, Albertine; a son, Robert; a sister, Bella and a brother Lionel.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Thursday, November 22nd from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R. C. church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Friday, November 23rd, 2018 at 10:30 am.
