Sr Laura Richard ndsc
Sister Laura Richard (Sr. Marie-Jean-Eudes), ndsc, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away following a short illness on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the convent where she resided.
Born June 14, 1920, in St-Charles-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Jean and Marie (Arsenault), Richard. She was 98 years old and in the 75th year of her religious life.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by a brother, Thim (Aline) of St-Charles-de-Kent, and several nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Belliveau; six brothers: Jean, Aurèle, Gérard, Léonel, Brother Antoine, csc, and Brother Luc, csc; six infant brothers and sisters.
Sister Laura will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Tuesday from 2 to 8:30 pm and Wednesday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 19 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
