Lucille Edith Cormier, 92, formerly of Cameron Arms in Moncton, passed away on Wednesday January 9, 2019 at the Serenacare Special Care Home in Moncton. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Adolphe and Violet (LeBlanc) Comeau.
She is survived by four children: Paulette Cormier Duncan, Robert (Heather Maclennan), John (Shelley Keyser), and Suzanne Cormier (Peter Cormier); two grandchildren: Christopher Duncan and Lauren Cormier. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Dollard Cormier; her sister, Lorraine Comeau-Léger; and her brother, Gérald "Gerry" Comeau (Mona).
She loved being a mother and saw that as her job. She also loved the beach, music, the chacha, gardening, skating, curling, and was happy at her cottage on the Bluff at Parlee Beach where she hosted happily. Lucille loved to travel having gone as far as Istanbul, her friends the "Golden Girls" and her Cameron Arms friends.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the staff of Serenacare for the care and love she received for five years.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private celebration of her life will be at a later date. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Lucille, a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
