Léona M. Paquet, 74, of Moncton, passed away on Thursday January 24, 2019 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Notre-Dame, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Edna (Léger) Gagnon.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George; two sons: Denis (Maryjo) of Moncton and Daniel (May) of Ste-Marie; three grandchildren: Alexander, Elizabeth, and Katherine; six sisters: Lilianne Gaudet (Donald) and Muriel Gagnon, both of Moncton, Jeannita Bouchard (André) of Gatineau, QC, Lorraine (late Ovila) of Dieppe, Sylvia Gagnon (Roger LeBlanc) of Notre-Dame, and Georgette Lirette (Charles) of St-Philippe; four brothers: Normand (Germaine) of Leominster, Irené (Bernice) of Grande-Digue, Gérard "Gerry" (Claudine) of Painsec Junction, and Jean-Paul (Lucille) of St-Antoine; as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, Moncton, will be announced later in the spring. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900). In memory of Léona, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (palliative care unit) would be appreciated.
