Imelda Gagnon, 93, of Dieppe, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Atholville, she was the daughter of the late James and Hélène (Simoneau) Haché.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Restigouche Hospital Centre.
She is survived by three daughters: Denise Parent (Roland) of Moncton, Yvonne Metallic (Peter) of Restigouche, QC and Gisèle MacGregor (Ranald) of Edmonton, AB; one son, John Hancock (David) of Perth, ON; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert; a daughter, Linda Gagnon; five sisters: Cecilia, Hélène, Stella, Evangeline Vallis and Ann McLeod; three brothers: Bill, Raymond and Eddie; her special friend, Ronald Marsden.
As per her wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. church, 415 Main Street, Shediac on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will be in St-Henri parish cemetery, Barachois.
In memory of Imelda, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
