Germaine Léger, 88, of Moncton passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC on Thursday October 31st, 2019.
Born in Boudreau Office, she was the daughter of the late Euclide and Amanda (Doiron) Léger.
She retired from nursing from the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital UHC. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, playing bridge, gardening and going to the trailer in Cape de Cocagne.
Germaine is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edgar; two sisters: Rose LeBlanc (late Azor LeBlanc) and Cécile Léger (late Richard Léger) and her sister-in-law: Claudette Fontaine (late Donald Fontaine); she is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews, a goddaughter (Stella) and by her many friends.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Simone Cormier and Jeannine Léger.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac from where a chapel service will be held on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 at 3 pm. Visiting hour is from 1 pm till time of chapel service at 3 pm.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff of the Dr.-Georges-L. Dumont UHC (4C) for the wonderful care provided to Germaine (Philo) during her illness.
In memory of Germaine, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
