Henri Richard, 90, of Moncton, passed away on Monday November 4, 2019 at McNair Manor. Born on March 1, 1929 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Adelard and Amanda (Girouard) Richard.
A graduate of Collège de l’Assomption, Teachers’ College, and Université de Moncton, Henri was a classroom teacher, and an instructor by correspondence (French section) within the Department of Education and NBCC. In retirement, he enjoyed doing crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, reading and watching old movies. He took a great interest in the planning of high school, and Teachers’ College reunions, and keeping in touch with his correspondence pupils.
He is survived by his sister, Dorice Richard of Moncton; his brother, Raymond (late Irene) of Oshawa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Orpha; and three brothers: Alyre "Babe", Norman, and Edgar.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff of McNair Manor and to Dr. Blandine Cormier and Dr. Troy Sitland, for their wonderful care provided to Henri during his illness.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral will be celebrated on Thursday November 7 at 11 am, followed by a reception. Visiting hours are Thursday from 9:30 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Henri, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
