John Gallant, 64, of Dieppe, passed away suddenly at his residence on Friday January 24, 2020. Born on June 24, 1955 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Pius and Lucy (Ranahan) Gallant.
John worked as a sales associate at Walmart and enjoyed the comradery of his co-workers in the produce department. John was long time member of Maplewood Golf Club and will be missed by his golfing partners. He was an accomplished golfer who lived and breathed the game. John also had an amazing talent in drawing cartoon characters of people and events, and many of them have been given as gifts to his family and friends. John had a very good sense of humour and drawing was a channel for recognition of a hole in one or communication of jibes and jokes. He was also an optimistic Toronto Maple Leafs fan.
John leaves behind two sisters: Mary Knighton (Rob) of Riverview, and Jean Goguen (Charles) of Dieppe; two brothers: Mike Gallant and Joe Gallant (Karen), both of Dieppe; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Peter.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday January 30 at 11 am followed by a reception. Visiting hours are from 10 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of John, a contribution to the N.B.
