Viola (Melanson) Bourque
Viola (Melanson) Bourque, 93, of Moncton, passed away on Friday April 24, 2020 at the Villa du Repos. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Sifroi and Edith (LeBlanc) Melanson.
Prior to her retirement, Viola worked at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters: Denise Bourque and Carole Dupuis (Maurice), both of Moncton; two granddaughters: Kayla (Michael) and Natalie (Rémi); one sister-in-law, Germaine Melanson (late Gerald); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Yvon (1988); one daughter, Gisèle Bourque (2015); her sisters: Lola LeBlanc (Néri), Anita Arsenault (Euclide), and Louise Melanson; her brothers: Clorice Melanson (Willie), Cléophas Melanson (Marion), and Yvon.
Special thanks to all the staff of the Villa du Repos for their wonderful care provided to Viola.
Due to the pandemic, the funeral service will be celebrated at a later date. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Viola, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society or the Villa du Repos Activities would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
