Charmaine LeBlanc, 90, formerly of 94 Robinson Street, Moncton, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, April 27, 2020. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Hélène "Nellie" (Melanson) LeBlanc.
She is survived by one sister, Ida Severin (Ted); two brothers: Roy LeBlanc (late Thérèse) and Laurie LeBlanc (Thérèse); one sister-in-law, Dora LeBlanc; as well as many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly, and who loved and cherished her.
In addition to her parents, Charmaine was predeceased by four sisters: Lorraine LeBlanc, Angela LeBlanc (Gerry), Violet Corbin (Vern), and Dora Owens (William); and one brother, Reginald LeBlanc.
Many people will remember Charmaine as the face behind the counter of the LeBlanc General Store on Robinson Street. She was always happy selling her little pies and bologna sandwiches to the men and women working down on Robinson Street many years ago, and even after many years, she loved sharing her memories of the people she met at the store to people lending their ear. She knew how to tell a story and to make people laugh. She also loved food, especially lobster, scallops and oysters.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Charmaine, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
