Diane Martin

Diane Martin, 71, of Baie-Ste-Anne, passed away on Thursday May 7, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of Dorina Cormier-Martin of Dieppe and the late Conrad Martin.

Diane worked in the social service field in New Brunswick for several years. She then moved to Ottawa; she continued her studies and was a community social worker for the city of Ottawa. Diane was adventurous, very generous and helpful. She was passionate about reading, she ran marathons, and she loved sailing and traveling with her husband.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her brothers: Roger (Germaine) Martin of Dieppe, Marcel Martin of Moncton, and Etienne Martin of St-Louis; her sisters: Simone (Marc) McIntyre of Baie-Ste-Anne, Bernadette Martin of Granby, QC, Jeanne Martin of Québec, and Rosa (Valerie " Snook") Pellerin of Baie-Ste-Anne; her husband’s children: Olivier DeBrouwer (Marie-France Berthiaume), Caroline DeBrouwer (Marie-Luce Abarrategui), Daniel DeBrouwer (Nadine Brunet), and Nathalie DeBrouwer; as well as her nieces, nephews and adoptive grandchildren.

Besides her father, she was predeceased by her husband, Guillaume DeBrouwer (2019); one step-son, Thierry; five sisters: Aurélie Nasrallah, Céline Gallant, Yolande Martin, Thérèse Martin, and Evangéline Martin.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff of the palliative care unit of the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC for the exceptional care provided to Diane, as well as the assistance and support of her friends.

The funeral service for immediate family only, due to the pandemic, will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900) on Tuesday May 12 at 2 pm. The funeral service will be streamed live and can be viewed by going on her obituary on our Website. In memory of Diane, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (palliative care) would be appreciated.
