Maurice Cormier, 67, of Scoudouc, passed away on Tuesday September 1, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Aurèle and Lorette (Downing) Cormier.
Before his retirement, he was a police officer for 29 years. Starting his career in Shediac, then Dieppe and he retired as an RCMP in Moncton. His passion was farming. Maurice was the co-owner of Scoudouc River Farm in Scoudouc for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Aline; three children: Omer (Lisa) of Moncton, Marcel (Vicky) and Joanne Cormier (William) all of Dieppe; a sister, Bernice Cormier of Scoudouc; a brother, Normand (Georgette) of Scoudouc; one granddaughter, Rosalie, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Wednesday September 9 from 10 am to 12 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the funeral centre at any given point during visitation.
A private funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph’s R.C., 415 Main Street, Shediac on September 9, 2020. The funeral mass will be videotaped and the video will be available on his obituary on our Website by the end of the day.
In memory of Maurice, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (palliative care) would be appreciated.
