Louis Babineau, 85, of Dieppe, passed away suddenly on Monday September 7, 2020 in Cap-Bimet. Born in Rogersville, he was the son of the late Jaddus and Ida (Arseneau) Babineau.
Before becoming a psychologist, he worked as a nurse, and a CN trains police.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Rolande (née Paulin) Basque; three step-sons: Robert Basque (Anne Poirier) of Cap-Bimet, René Basque (Donna Gauthier) of Riverview, and Jean Basque (Jasmine DeRoy) of Gatineau, QC, and their families; two sisters: Geneviève "Geneva" of Rogersville and Yvonne Roussel (late Côme) of Tracadie; three brothers: David (Claire) of Bouctouche, Gérald of Saint John, and Guy of Toronto, ON; two brothers-in-law: Edmond Caissie (Gladys) of Rogersville and Vincent Caissie (Louina) of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne née Caissie; his daughter, Nadine; one step-son, Fernand; one sister, Stella Gallant (Ernest); as well as one brother, Léo.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Saturday from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton, on Saturday September 12 at 11 am. Interment will be in St-François-de-Sales cemetery in Rogersville. Face coverings are required and social distancing regulations are in effect. In memory of Louis, a contribution to Crossroads for Women or the House of Nazareth would be appreciated.
