It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Léa Allard-Méthot, wife of Alexandre Méthot, of Rothesay, NB, following a lengthy illness at the Kings Way Care Centre in Quispamsis, on Monday September 14, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Gaspard and Rose Anna (Savoie) Allard.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Rino (Manon Savoie) of Rothesay; three grandchildren: Jacob, Madeleine and Emma; and one sister, Éliza Allard of Charlo.
She was predeceased by her brothers: Donat Boudreau and René as well as two sisters: Albertine and Marguerite.
Léa enjoyed two careers, first as a medical technologist, which she practiced mainly in Dalhousie. Her skill and dedication were known to all. When our son was born, she returned to teaching, and naturally gave the best of herself.
For several years, Léa was associated with the Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, and each week, she devoted an afternoon to their telephone work of Écoute-Prière. Léa also spent several years of her life as a nun with the Filles de Jésus whom she kept close to her heart.
Leah had many talents: seamstress, great cook, and many others. Her many friends will agree that she was welcoming, charitable and always willing to help.
We will miss Leah. We believe that she is not absent, but simply present elsewhere and that she watches over us. We are assured that the Lord has already welcomed her into his House.
Due to the pandemic, a private funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900) on Saturday October 10 at 11 am. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to her obituary on our Website. Interment will be in Eel River Crossing.
