It is with great sadness that Jeannette Melanson, 73, of Moncton, passed away suddenly on Sunday September 27, 2020 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of the late Dosithée and Marie (Léger) Porelle.
Prior to her retirement, she was a personal banker at TD Bank. Jeannette truly had a heart of gold, she put everyone’s needs before her own. She was so very proud of all her children and grandchildren. Her love of music, daily walks, and good books kept her busy along with her fun-filled weekends with her close circle of friends.
She is survived by three daughters: Cindy Wedge (Wayne) of O’Leary, PE, Claudine Tuttle (Andy) of Calgary, AB, and Claire Chevarie (Marc "Chevy") of Moncton; nine grandchildren: Kristie, Matthew, Dylan, Joey, Miguel, Nicholas, Alexandre, Stéphanie, and Isabelle; one sister, Isabelle Porelle (Jean-Guy Haché) of Valleyfield, QC; one brother, Paul (Marcine) of Dieppe; two sisters-in-law: Alfreda Wellman (late Don) and Andrea Ouellette (Laurie); as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene "Geno" (2007); and one brother, George.
By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s R.C. Church, 87 Botsford Street, Moncton on Thursday October 1 at 3 pm. Face coverings are required and social distancing regulations are in effect. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Jeannette, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
