Gerald "Gerry" B. Hilton

Gerald "Gerry" Burnett Hilton, 79, formerly of Shediac, passed away on Saturday October 3, 2020 at the Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Velma (Burnett) Hilton.

He was educated in Winnipeg and then later attended the University of British Columbia. He joined the Federal Public Service (Ottawa) where he enjoyed a career spanning 31 years. He worked for ACOA (Atlantic) and after retirement joined the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce where he served as CEO/General Manager. Moving to the Greater Moncton area with his family in 1979, Gerry believed in giving back to his community which had made him feel so welcomed. He was a member of many charitable and other organizations in the Southeast New Brunswick area.

He is survived by his lifelong partner, Shirley King/Lauzon; three daughters: Deborah (Tim), Cheryl and Jennifer (Lewis); four granddaughters: Meaghan, Sarah, Macayla and Olivia; one brother, Kenneth (Barbara); as well as several nephews and a niece in Winnipeg.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the "staff" of the Evergreen Wing at the Spencer Memorial Home.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday October 8 from 2 to 4 pm at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) followed by a celebration of his life at 4 pm. Face coverings are required and social distancing regulations are in effect.The memorial tribute will be live streamed; to view the celebration, go to his obituary on our Website. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Gerry, donations can be made to the Parkinson Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or you may want to consider the Moncton SPCA.
