Guy Savoie, 84, resident of the Villa du Repos in Moncton, formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Villa du Repos.
Born in Dundee, he was the son of the late Honoré and Emérentienne (Allard) Savoie.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Clairine née Melanson; five children: Francine Savoie of Dundee, Mario (Charline) of Grand Barachois, Sylvie Savoie (Allain Boudreau) of Campbelton, and Donald of Dieppe; daughter-in-law, Lise, Savoie of Dieppe; sister-in-law, Jeannine Savoie of Dundee; seven grandchildren: Jérémie, Justin, Daniel, Julien, Mathieu, Tiffany, and Vanessa; four great-grandchildren: Noah, Félix, Jade and Maxime; four sisters: Imélda LeBlanc (late Léopold) of Campbellton, Émeline Landry (late Odinat) of Charlo, Catherine Savoie (Sylvio) of Balmoral and Agnès Belliveau (Thomas) of Dieppe; one brother, Vianney (late Evangéline) of Nouvelle, QC; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Ghislain Savoie; two sisters: Rosaline Savoie and Zélia Savoie; six brothers: Léonard, Ludger, Guillas, Edgar, Adrien and Olivier.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the funeral centre at any given point during visitation.
A private funeral mass will be celebrated at Sainte-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus, 457 Acadie Avenue, Dieppe on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. The funeral will be videotaped and posted later in the afternoon on Tuesday on his obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com. Interment will be in Dundee.
The family will receive also condolences at Maher’s Funeral Home, 517 Ave Des Pionniers, Balmoral, (506-826-3847), on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 from 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the funeral centre at any given point during visitation.
