Madelyn Rose Richard
It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Madelyn Rose Richard, 87, on Saturday, December 19, 2020 with her family by her side.
Born in Anagance, NB, she was the youngest child of the late Joseph and Jenny (Breen) Malone.
Mom was a very loving, caring, patient and kind person with a remarkable wit. She and dad welcomed all into their home for great conversations and always a good time. She loved family gatherings and her Irish music. She loved all the simple things in life and always had the best advice.
The last eight months have been very difficult for her being separated from dad due to the pandemic. We are so happy she was able to spend the last month of her life in the loving care of Lakeview Manor with dad by her side.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Richard; her children, Dianne McManaman, Paul (Edith), Maureen (Dave) Boudreau, Janice (Steve) Brigham and Susie (Rick) Melanson all of Moncton; her sister, Theresa Madden of Smiths Creek; twelve grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Jenna, Melissa, Shawn, Stephen, Greg, Brandon, Mackenzie, Ryan, Julie and Chris; as well as six great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by an infant sister; Elizabeth Anne, her sister Mona Scott; her brothers, Gerad, Joseph, Frank, Matthew and Austin.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the funeral centre at any given point during visitation.
A private funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Church, 43 Botsford St, Moncton on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
