Sr Jeannine Babin f.j.
Sister Jeannine Babin, in religion Sister Marie Léa-de-Jésus, Fille de Jésus, passed away following a long illness on Friday December 25, 2020 at Monarch Hall in Riverview. She was 85 years old and was in her 64th year of religious life. Sister Jeannine was the daughter of the late François Babin and the late Léa Roy from Dalhousie, N.B.
Besides her religious family, she will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Réjeanne Babin from Woodstock, Ont.; as well as one niece and three nephews, all from Ontario.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her only brother, Roméo Babin.
Sister Jeannine worked in several professions during her life: first as a teacher for 25 years. She also taught music, worked as an auditor for the Marriage Tribunal in Bathurst, and did pastoral and missionary work for five years in Jamaica and Dominica.
The celebration of Sister Jeannine’s life will be held at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday January 4, 2021 at 2 pm with a Celebration of the Word presided by Father Edmour Babineau. Visiting hours are Monday from 1 pm until time of celebration of life. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 50 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect.The funeral service will be live streamed; to view the funeral, go to her obituary on our Website. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
