It is with great sadness that the family of Loretta Babin, 89, of Résidence O Bons Soins in Shediac and formerly of Moncton, announce her passing on Thursday February 18, 2021 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Yvon and Yvonne (Gaudet) Gauvin.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Eaton’s and at the Moncton Coliseum concessions.
She is survived by one daughter, Lise Cormier (Gilles) of Shediac; one son, Maurice of Moncton; five grandchildren: Mathieu, Brittany, Véronique, Joel, and Isabelle; three great-grandchildren: Miles, Jasmine, and Kory; three sisters: Aurore Breau (late Yvon) and Bern Breau (Don), both of Grand-Barachois, and Josette Melanson (late Lloyd) of Dieppe; one brother, Valmond (Annette) of Dieppe; three sisters-in-law: Diane Gauvin, Roberte Gauvin and Corinne Gauvin; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar (1995); one son, Ronald; one sister, Yolande (Léo); three brothers: Ulysse, Armand and Néri.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation and no funeral service. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Loretta, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
