Sr Jeannine Cormier ndsc
Sister Jeannine Cormier (Sr. Marie-Rose-Lina), ndsc, of Grand Falls, passed away following a short illness on Monday February 22, 2021, at the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur. She was 83 years old and in the 66th year of her religious life. Born in Saint-Paul-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and Lina (Dionne) Cormier.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by three sisters: Anita Bourgeois (Armand) of Dieppe, Sr Stella, ndsc, of Moncton, and Phyllis Maillet (Léandre) of Massachusetts; one brother, Oscar (Lorette) of Shediac; two sisters-in-law: Élodie Cormier of Dieppe and Clara Cormier of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five sisters: Yvonne Albert (Clovis), Dorice Belliveau (Éric), Sr Florence, ndsc, Émélie LeBlanc (Léonard), and infant Jeannine; four brothers: Yvon (Dorice), Adélard, Henri et infant Joseph.
Sister Jeannine will be resting at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday February 25 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 25 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect. A private funeral mass will be celebrated in the chapel of the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton on Friday February 26. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on her obituary on our Website at the end of the day. Interment will be in Memramcook.
