It is with great sadness that the family of Wanda Thompson have to announce her sudden passing on Sunday, March 28th, 2021 at the age of 53. Born in Amherst, NS, Wanda was the daughter of Judy Robinson (Smith), the late Vernon Barkhouse, and stepdaughter of Graydon Smith.
Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 32 years, Paul; her daughter Amber of Moncton; her stepchildren: Melanie (Ernesto) of Gatineau, QC, Stephen (Kelly) of Moncton; four step-grandchildren: Grace, Amelia, Hannah, and Olivia; brother, Scott Robinson (Katrina); niece, Rachel Robinson; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
It is no secret to anyone who had the privilege of knowing Wanda that she loved being outside in the sun and cheering on the Montreal Canadians. She would not have traded either love for the world. Wanda spent most of her life working as a waitress and cherished every moment with every customer by brightening their day with her luminous, warm smile. Amongst the sun, hockey, and her bright smile that made you feel at home, she loved her children, even the furry ones. We all loved her so deeply and she will be missed just as much, it is never goodbye, just a see you later. Do not mind us down here having a can of diet coke for you. I hope you rest peacefully mom, until we meet again, we love you.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Saturday April 10th from 2 to 4 pm. By request, there will be no funeral service. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 50 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect. The family asks that people make donations in support of Alzheimer Society, in lieu of sending flowers.
