Irène Belliveau, 99, of Moncton, passed away on Wednesday April 7, 2021 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Ouellet.
Prior to her retirement, Irène worked as a secretary at the Université de Moncton and then at School District 13 (now School District 1). She was a member of Christ-Roi Parish where she had served as President of the Golden Age Club. She had also volunteered with the Red Cross for whom she delivered meals.
She is survived by two daughters: Marie-Paule Savoie (Donald) and Charlotte Belliveau, both of Moncton; two sons: Jean Belliveau of Bathurst and Pierre Belliveau of Moncton; four grandchildren: Marco, Martinne, Joël, and Rémi; eight great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Dominique, Izack, Lauralie, Wes, Mila, Sophia and Nataleigh; one step-daughter, Isolla LeBlanc (Oscar) of Moncton; two step-grandchildren: Brenda and Serge; her step-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Eugène Belliveau (1991); her second husband, Robert Boudreau (2019); one son, Bernard; one grandson, Michael; her sister, Yvonne; and her brother, Emile.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday April 9 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 50 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Irène, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology) would be appreciated.
