It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard "Bernie" Doiron, 91, of Pointe-du-Chêne on August 15, 2021, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC.  Born in Saint John and raised in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, he was the son of the late Euclide and Marie Rose (Doiron) Doiron.

He is survived by his four children: Jeff (Janice), Janice, Allen (Linda) and Ann; his sisters: Rose (late Nelson) Drouin, Geraldine (Ovila) Daigle, and Gabrielle (Norman) Cyr; grandsons: Cody, Tyler, Kyle and Cole and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Clements) Doiron; brothers: Gilbert (Angele), Omar (Exelda) and Leo-Paul (late Germaine), and sister Florence (late Sylvain) Babineau.

For 25-years Bernie was the proud co-owner of Gallant's TV in Shediac, a job that gave him the opportunity to meet so many people and make life-long friends.  He was an active member of the Pointe-du-Chêne and later Shediac chapter of the Knights of Columbus.  An avid sports fan, he could often be found cheering on his favorite hockey teams during the winter months.  During the summer, he enjoyed the beautiful weather at Parlee Beach and watching the sunset from the Pointe-du-Chêne Wharf.

By request, there will be no visitation.  The funeral will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, 11 St. Andrews Street, Pointe-du-Chêne on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 10am. Family requested that face coverings be mandatory

The family would like to thank the nursing teams of 4A and 4E at the Georges Dumont Hospital for taking such good care of all of us during this very difficult time.

In memory of Bernie, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (532-3297).
