It is with extreme sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Clarence Bourque, 84, of Shediac, NB. Clarence passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday February 4, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Laurie and Minnie (Melanson) Bourque.

Clarence studied at the Assumption College in Moncton, Université de Moncton, and the Université de Laval.  He then proceeded to work for 32 years at Normandie Wines (Vincor). He was a member of the Shediac Rotary Club, Chevalier de Colomb, Club Boishebert and the Greater Shediac Sewerage Commission Board.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, and a loyal friend. His family, which he loved very much, always came first. He had a good sense of humour and a passion for racing, camping, vacationing, taking long drives and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Carole Cyr (Rodney) of Moncton and Serge (Monique) of Shediac; his sister, Marie-Berthe Bourque of Scoudouc.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rose-Marie (Boudreau) (2003)

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday February 9 at 4:00pm. Visiting hours are Wednesday February 8 from 6 pm to 8pm and Thursday from 3:00pm until time of funeral. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Shediac.

In memory of Clarence, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology) would be appreciated.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude for the excellent care Clarence received at the Residence O Bon Soins and also to the doctors and nurses at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC.
