Denise Fougère, 61, of Caissie Cape and formerly
of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 3rd, 2023, at the
Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC following a courageous battle with early
onset Alzheimer/corticobasal syndrome. Born in Moncton, she was the
daughter of Rose-Marie (Gautreau) Léger and the late Robert
"Bob" Léger.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her loving and devoted
husband of 42 years, Georges; daughter, Chantal Montefrisco (Jason
"Jay"), grandchildren: Raphaël and Zara of Lower
Coverdale; sister, Debbie Richard (Guy) of Moncton; brother, Michael
"Mike" (Diane) of Shediac; as well as several nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Denise enjoyed hosting afternoons at the pool as well as
small and large dinner parties. She always had her
guests’ best interest at heart! Her cooking and chef skills
were always entertaining, while listening to the oldies you could
watch her prep the meals! She also enjoyed travelling, especially to
those warm beachside places, such as the Caribbean, Mexico and of
course Caissie Cape beach.
Denise had a great sense of humor and could always deliver
the best one-liners at the appropriate times! She was a joyful
presence with her beautiful fashion sense and always with a little bit
of sparkles. Her home was always filled with warmth and
kindness.
Denise was also a dedicated mother, daughter, and a loving
sister, she proudly doted and spoiled her nieces, nephews and
especially her amazing grandchildren. Her lucky pets since early
childhood always brought her joy and were always a priority in her
life.
She wanted her celebration of life to be full of vibrancy,
color, and joyful music. We will miss her dearly.
A special thank you to all the staff of Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont
UHC Unit 3E, Dr Natalie Cyr and Dr. Ludevine Witkowski for their
outstanding care and compassion. Also thank you to the Alzheimer
Society of N.B. for their continuous support over the past
years.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
celebration of life will be celebrated on Friday June 9th at 11 am.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Interment
will be at Frenette Columbarium. In memory of Denise, a contribution
to the Alzheimer Society of N.B. or to People for Animal Wellbeing
