Francesca Profeta, 91, formerly of Moncton, passed away on Thursday November 30, 2023 at Lakeview Manor in Riverview. Born in Casagreca, Abruzzo, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Filippo and Irene Mazzetta.

Prior to her retirement, Francesca was a cook at various restaurants in Moncton.

She is survived by three children: Clementina, Giovanni (Annette) and Irna Geddes (Philip); seven grandchildren: Giulio, Gianna, Gessi, Luigi, Benita, Nina, and Gina; seven great-grandchildren: Elio, Lillian, Kaden, Darien, Nadia, Eli, and Austin; one sister, Angelina DiDomenicantonio; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alderino (1992); and three sisters: Pasquina, Quintina, and Mariassunta.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 858 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Monday December 4 at 12 pm noon. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Francesca, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
