It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden
passing of Hans Werner Krahl, 85, of Cap-Bimet on Saturday May
4th, 2024. Hans was born in 1938 in Burg By
Magdeburg, East Germany, he was the son of the late Werner and Hanna
(Laue) Krahl.
Hans was a high voltage electrician and worked as a
foreman for ABB (formerly BBC) electrical company in
Germany.
Hans immigrated to Canada in 1989 after meeting the
love of his life, Nora in 1986. They were married in
1988. Hans became a Canadian citizen in
1999.
Hans loved cruising the Adriatic Sea, building houses
and working with his tools. Upon moving to Canada, Hans became a
prolific hunter and a not-so-great fisherman. He loved the
Canadian outdoors, foraging for fiddleheads, goose tongue greens,
clams and mussels.
Hans and Nora spent winters in Florida for 28-years
making many dear friends along the way. Together, they
developed a love for cruising the Caribbean Sea, dancing and having a
good time. Hans loved to hold court telling amazing stories
about his native Germany and his remarkable
childhood.
Hans is survived by his loving wife and partner of 38
years, Nora Krahl; two daughters: Andrea, Barbara, their mother,
Crystl; a grandson, Kai (Julia) Kline; a great grandson, Keon Kline;
two stepchildren: Kim Rayworth (Mike Randall) and Jason Rayworth
