Valeri "Val" Thibodeau, 81, of Riverview, passed away on Sunday October 6, 2024 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Robichaud Office, he was the son of the late Napoléon and Phélonise (LeBlanc) Thibodeau.

Following his career with the Canadian Navy, Val worked at Robin Hood Multi Foods and then worked as commissionaire in Moncton.

He is survived by four children: Debbie Thibodeau, Dan (Ginger), David (Marvis), and Gerald; five grandchildren: Josh, Jenna, Cassidy, Tanner, David Jr, and Sherry; two great-grandchildren: Marley and Justin; one sister, Claudette LeBlanc (late Donald); one brother, Albert (late Glenda); as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen Allen; one daughter, Glenda; and six siblings: Claude (late Colombe), Donald (Catherine), Hubert (Carmel), Huberte, infant Valmond, and Donalda (late Rhéal).

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. church, 5 Fatima Drive, Riverview on Thursday October 10 at 11 am. Interment will be in Saint-Henri cemetery in Barachois. In memory of Val, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
