Pius Gosselin, 85, of Moncton, passed away on Sunday October 6, 2024 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Guillaume ‘’Willie’’ and Tilla (Boudreau) Gosselin.

He is survived by six children: Pierre (Marlene) of Moncton, Michel and Silvie Poirier (Daniel), both of Shediac Cape, Shirley Kelly (Larry) of Dieppe, Suzanne Gosselin-Cyr (Guy) of Moncton, and Geneviève Geneau (Brian) of Miramichi; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Aurore Savoie and Chantal Gosselin, both of Montréal, Esther Beaman of Riverview, and Yolande Boudreau (Donald) of Dieppe; two brothers: Jean of Cap-Pelé and Paul of Montréal; one sister-in-law, Denise Gosselin of Moncton; one brother-in-law, Réal Chamberlain of Montréal; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Laurence Nadeau (2018); one grandson, Luc; one son-in-law, Donald Cyr; three sisters: Lina Richard, Stella Chamberlain, and infant Eva; and one brother, Donald.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Friday October 11 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Pius, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

Pius was co-owner of the family businesses: Le Château à Pape, La Cave à Pape and Duane's Restaurant. L’Acadie lost a star, a true Acadian family man who lived life to the fullest. He would never claim he was perfect but the love he gave was pure and unconditional. To the man, the father, the grandfather, the great-grandfather, the entrepreneur, the inventor, the entertainer, and the leader he was to his family, you will be missed.

He is leaving us with the tools to succeed in life through his many examples and for that we say thank you and rest well. Until we see you again, we love you and know we have another guardian angel above us. Guaranteed, Heaven will not be the same with Pius there.
