Mr. Wilfrid Pelletier, 81, of Moncton, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Monday December 9, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Véronique LeGresley, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage. Born on February 17, 1943 in Saint-Quentin, he was the son of the late Isidore Pelletier and the late Adélia Deschênes.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Nadine (Pierre Dumas) and Claude (Suzon LeBouthillier); his grandchildren: Alexandre, Romain, Mathieu and Clément; his brother, Laurent (Fleur-Ange Miller); his sister, Cécile (late Raymond Roy); his step-brother, Oneil (late Suzanne Miville-Deschênes); his brothers-in-law: Jean LeGresley (late Murielle Valcourt) and Reinhold Niemeyer (late Diana LeGresley); his sister-in-law, Ginette LeGresley (Irma Cormier); as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his step-sisters: Raymonde and Blanche.

Wilfrid has devoted 35 years of his life to the education system, working at both primary and secondary levels in Neguac, Grande-Digue and Shediac. He was also an educational consultant with the School Board 1 for 7 years. In addition, he was a founding member of APTICA (Association pour l'avancement des technologies de l'information et de la communication en Atlantique) and COMPETICA (Compétences en TIC en Atlantique), collaborating with several colleagues from the Université de Moncton and other staff members from Atlantic francophone schools.

A true music lover, music has always been an important part of his life. The camaraderie and community spirit he shared with choir members were as precious to him as the music itself. He also enjoyed volunteering at the CHU Dumont hospital and elsewhere. He was also a member of the Club Richelieu de Neguac for many years.

Wilfrid was always a loved and respected man by all. Caring, loving and "humorous", Wilfrid left an indelible mark on the hearts of all those who came in contact with him.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Friday December 20 beginning at 2 pm. Wilfrid was a devout Catholic and had a deep faith, therefore a celebration of the Word will follow the visitation and will be held at the same location. The celebration of the Word will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to Wilfrid’s obituary on the Frenette Website. Interment will be at Notre-Dame-des-Prodiges cemetery in Kedgwick. In memory of Wilfrid, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick can be made.

We will miss you Wilfrid… Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
