Orina "Rena" Leger, 88, of Shediac passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at The Moncton Hospital, Moncton. Born in Cap-Pelé, she was the daughter of the late Georges and Alma (Brun) Niles and her adopted parents the late Jacob and Dométhilde (Niles) Vautour.

Rena was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #33, Shediac for the past 50 years, she was also a past President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She enjoyed painting, dancing and her greatest joy was cooking for her large family. She was a loving mother that was proud of all her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Raymond Leger; her children: Denise Weigum (David) and Louise Trueman (David) all of Fredericton, Michelle Babineau (Rheal) of Moncton, Paul (Linda), Danny (Anne) all of Shediac and Robert of Fredericton; son-in-law, Paul Doiron of Grand-Barachois; her 11 grandchildren: Melissa, Natalie, Emily, Matthew, Alexandre, Olivia, Timothy, Zachary, Isabelle, Kiana and Hope; her two great grandsons: Logan and Liam; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter: Mona Ann (2005); an infant sister, Bernice Niles, and her siblings, Reginald Niles, Léona Cormier, Willie Bourque, Ronald Niles, Clarence LeBlanc, Léo LeBlanc, Freddy LeBlanc, Georges Bourque, Arthur Bourque, Alyre Bourque and Marguerite Bourque.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) from where the funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10 am. Visiting hours will be on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9 am to 9:45 am.
