Raymond McLaughlin, 77, of Moncton, passed away on Friday March 28, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Born in Tracadie, he was the son of the late Michel and Marguerite (Losier) McLaughlin.

He is survived by his wife for 51 years, Francine (Dancause); two daughters: Nathalie McLaughlin (John Robinson) and Mireille McLaughlin; his brothers and sisters: Guy (Aline), Raymonde Gallant (Jacques), Roger, Wallace (Anne), Rejeanne Jean (Michel) and Sylvie Arseneau (Arthur); as well as many nieces and nephews whom he adored.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Clarence at a young age,

Always at the service of others and his community, Raymond was a councillor for the town of Tracadie-Sheila, president of the société historique acadienne of the Université de Moncton, and worked as a civil servant in social and economic development then as director of finances for the Department of Justice of New Brunswick.

The family would like to thank Dr. Marie-Josée Poitras and Dr. Marie-Josée Nadeau for their unwavering care and support.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday April 4 at 4 pm.  Visiting hours are Friday from 2 pm until time of funeral. Interment will be at Elmwood cemetery, Moncton. In memory of Raymond, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society or the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology) would be appreciated.
