It is with heavy hearts that
we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Bertha who left us
peacefully at the age of 95.
Born on Shediac Island, she
was a devoted housewife, loving mother, and a fierce protector of her
family. Always the one who cared deeply for those she loved. Bertha
found great joy in spending time with her family, particularly with
her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, often babysitting and
showering them with love and affection.
She had a special place in her
heart for Sunday family suppers, where she would cook delicious meal
that brought everyone together around the table. Her love for cooking
and nurturing her family was a hallmark of her caring spirit. In
addition to family time, she enjoyed the great outdoors, particularly
camping and found peace in her daily walks to the
beach.
A lover of games, Bertha was
always ready for a good round of cards (200) and most notably, loved
to win. Yet, she found as much joy in her quiet moments alone,
cleaning and taking care of her home.
One of her most cherished
traditions was singing ``You Are My Sunshine`` to her
grandchildren. A song that will forever remind us of her warmth and
unwavering love. She was still singing this song the day
before she crossed over.
Her legacy of kindness,
strength and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was a pillar of her family, and she will be dearly missed by her
children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren, all who were fortunate to have shared in
her life.
Rest in peace, Mom you were
our sunshine, and we will always carry your love with
us.
In her later years, she
received the compassionate and dedicated care from the staff at the
Villa Providence (La Colombe and Promenade de Vie). We
extend our deepest gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff.
Their unwavering support, excellent care and the heartfelt hugs they
provided during her time there meant the world to us. We are so
grateful for the comfort and care they gave to her in her final
days.
She is survived by her
children; Betty Hébert (late Maurice 2017) of Shediac
Bridge, Lorette Gallant (Azor Babineau) of Grand-Barachois, Bobby of
Shediac, Russell (late Pauline 2024) of Scoudouc; her ten
grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; two great-great
grandchildren; and by several nieces and
nephews.
