It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Johanne Hickey, 61, of Scoudouc, on Saturday April 12, 2025. Surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Born in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late William and Marguerite (Bourque) Renaud.

Johanne cherished time with her family and friends, often looking forward to planning gatherings at the camp. She found joy in staying active at the gym and took great pride in supporting seniors. With a deep sense of compassion and healing, she offered comfort to others especially in helping them transition peacefully to the other side. 

Johanne will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 42 years, Shawn Hickey;  two sons: Patrick (Keriann) and Brian; four grandchildren: Hazel, Molly, Malcolm, and Violet; three sisters: Yvonne Arsenault (Laurie), Francine Cormier (Léonard) all of Shediac, and Denise Nolet (Paul) of Edmundston;  four brothers: Claude (Ella) of Haute-Aboujagane, Yvon (Jacqueline), Robert (Norma), and Michel all of Shediac, as well as  many nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers: Ronald and Gilles; one sister, Rose-Marie.

In accordance with her wishes, a private service was held. In memory of Johanne, a contribution to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506-532-3297).
