Hervé Breau, 93, of Moncton and formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Tuesday April 8, 2025 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Henri and Élodie (Doiron) Breau.

Hervé worked for NB Power for many years before embarking on a teaching career at the Université de Moncton. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, golfing with his brother Clarence and fishing with his brother-in-law Tilmon.

He is survived by two sons: Pierre of Montréal, and Jacques (Denise) of Ottawa; two granddaughters: Melanie and Charlotte; one brother, Gilles (Angelie); one sister-in-law, Joan Breau; one brother-in-law, Tilmon Gallant; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Marie-Anne; three sisters: Lorraine Gallant, Louise LeBlanc and Cécile Sears; and three brothers: Clarence, Hervé and Albert.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday June 11 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday June 10 from 6-8 pm only. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Hervé, a contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
